If you haven’t been paying attention, like most Canadians haven’t been, you’d think that the guns that were banned as part of the Order in Council on May 1st are the only ones that were prohibited.

Well, surprise, you would be wrong.

The RCMP have been secretly banning thousands of firearms since May 1st that were not explicitly named in the Order In Council (OIC) regulation change document.

The May 1 OIC regulation change includes all shotguns with a bore diameter greater than 20mm (i.e. most shotguns with removable chokes), or anything that is capable of discharging 10,000 joules or more of muzzle velocity.

A reasonable person would ask, what is included in that category?

Well for starters a lot of large hunting caliber bolt action rifles like the .675 Weatherby and competition rounds like the .375 & .408 CheyTac, or Cheyenne Tactical.

How about the beautifully made Purdy Double Barrel rifle. On Jun15, the RCMP added the Purdy double barrel rifle as prohibited using the max 10K joules clause.  Hope CDN taxpayers enjoy funding the Liberal buyback for these big game hunting rifles, they’re worth $135K-$250K each!

Purdy Single Shot Double Barrel Rifle – Now Banned in Canada!

Also lots of Olympic athletes use over-bored 12 gauge shotguns for Olympic trap shooting competitions. So now they’re probably banned, and they can’t even use them at their range to practice or compete with.

Not exactly an “assault style” ban, amirite?

So you’d figure they’d be done with just those items mentioned in the OIC. Wrong again!

Now they’re coming after anything and everything that’s a semi-auto firearm or has a detachable magazine, and the worst part is, it’s all being done in secret and behind closed doors, and they’re under no obligation to tell you that they’ve banned it.

How can they do this? The RCMP Firearms Program is responsible for maintaining a database called the “Firearms Reference Table”, which is referenced by law enforcement, border services agencies, and retailers to know which firearms are allowed to be sold Canada. They have been secretly changing the status of firearms from “non-restricted” to “prohibited” by claiming that they’re all of the sudden “variants” of the rifles that were banned by OIC.

Here’s an example of the FRT entries for the Derya MK12.

And the image below illustrates the previous reasons for the Non-Restricted classification by the RCMP Lab:

Pretty interesting that all of the sudden something that was true yesterday is no longer fact. If it wasn’t a variant for the last number of years, but it is today, that raises a lot of questions.

Maybe the RCMP firearms lab is incompetent?

Maybe it doesn’t fit the political narrative, so the facts are allowed to be changed?

Make up your own minds on that one.

Here are some examples of the newly banned firearms as part of their secret Firearms Reference Table update. Go to Armalytics.ca for the latest news and FRT database.

Here’s the worst part of it all: You won’t even know if you’re in possession of a newly prohibited firearm.

You could be out plinking targets with your favourite 22 rifle in the morning and be a criminal in possession of a prohibited firearm and face up to 8 years in jail without even knowing it.

Fun bonus: The RCMP have removed the “grandfathering option” from their website… So there you go, it’s confiscation or jail, that’s your choice going forward unless we can get this OIC rescinded and this government out of power next election.

Gotta love this government.
